it is showing it's age
lichen clutching to it's surface
it is stoic, sturdy and motionless moving through time
it has known drought, received water drop by drop
or a downpour from the sky
it served hikers, farmers or eager tongues of cattle
just now it is the subject of my picture
like a ship in a landscape
that is slowly sliding to a still unknown destiny
