L'Homme et l'arbre / Het Beige Huis

Submersive Photography
Submersive Photography
With my photography I’d like to move into worlds that lie beyond what is directly visible, not by manipulating what I see, nor by changing somehow the photograph itself, but by seeing more as what the camera captures. I would like that my pictures can move beyond that instant reality, into a wider realm, where there is room to think, or to dream, or where some other space reveals itself.
I wish to do this with the images that I encounter in daily life, images that don’t seem to have exceptional beauty, or any other special quality, even though, ofcourse they did somehow drew my attention. Perhaps my eye captured it because it already had that particular poetic, philosophical or conceptual quality.
The other day, I read up a little about submersive photography. I came across the words saying it is pensive, and that it interrupts the flow of one-dimensional meaning. I then thought that it is this what I am interested in and what I wish my pictures to be.
